Help End Violence Against Women in Loudoun

Commission presents its first RoundTable on this critical topic

 

July 17, 2018 – Loudoun County, VA – The Loudoun Commission on Women and Girls (LCWAG) invites Loudoun community members to attend its first-round table event, “Ending Violence Against Women in Loudoun,” on Tuesday, July 24, at Rust Library.  

 

LCWAG is partnering with Inova Loudoun Hospital and Loudoun Abused Women’s Shelter (LAWS) to host this important discussion of domestic and sexual violence in Loudoun. The round table will include a panel discussion and training on what to do when you or someone you know is a victim.

 

Featured speakers and panelists include Inova Ewing Forensic Assessment and Consultation Teams (FACT), LAWS, Phyllis J. Randall, Chairman of the Board of Supervisors, Valmarie Turner, Assistant Loudoun County Administrator, the Loudoun Domestic Abuse Response Team (DART), the Office of the Commonwealth’s Attorney, Loudoun County Community Corrections, Legal Services of Northern Virginia, and the Leesburg Police Department.

 

“We are proud to launch our round table series with a discussion of one of the most critical women’s issues in our community. By partnering with local experts, we hope to educate the public on domestic and sexual violence in Loudoun and the resources available to victims,” said the Commission’s Chair, Christine DeWitt.
