Loudoun Commission on Women & Girls Records a Successful Give Choose Day
Commission more than doubles its fundraising goals in its first Give Choose campaign

May 2, 2018 – Loudoun County, VA - The Loudoun Commission on Women and Girls successfully participated in Give Choose, a 24-hour “crowdfunding” event sponsored by the Community Foundation for Loudoun and Northern Fauquier Counties.  Give Choose challenges our community to donate to our local non-profits.

During the 24-hour period on May 1st, LCWAG raised over $5,000 for its programs.  LCWAG’s social media committee successfully leveraged the power of social media so that by midday, LCWAG’s Facebookpost engagement and page views were up 200%and LinkedIn engagement was up 18%.  LCWAG’s development committee also hosted a happy hour at 14 Loudoun in Leesburg to encourage donors and others to stop by, meet LCWAG members, and join in the day of giving.

“We’d like to sincerely thank all of our donors for investing in the future of Loudoun’s women and girls. Your generosity will empower our women and girls to confidently grow in their personal and professional lives, as they face issues ranging from domestic and sexual violence to underrepresentation in STEM. Our first Give Choose day was a tremendous success because of you,” stated the Commission’s Chair.

LCWAG, a nonprofit organization founded in 2017 by Phyllis J. Randall, is a component fund of the Community Foundation for Loudoun and Northern Fauquier Counties, and is independently funded through private donations.  Through collaboration with local organizations and programs designed to educate and empower, LCWAG strives to improve women and girls’ health, safety and wellness and educational and professional opportunities.
