Voices of Loudoun’s Women

LCWAG began asking women across Loudoun County about their lives in 2020 and published our first findings in early 2021.

We call this ongoing work the **Voices of Loudoun Women Community Assessment Series**.

Each report below shares what we heard in plain language, supported by the data behind it. Open any report for a brief summary or download the full PDF for complete findings and methodology. This page includes every annual Voices of Loudoun Women report, interim research brief, and post-event report we have published.

These findings help inform LCWAG’s programming, advocacy, partnerships, and community education efforts. They also help us identify emerging needs, track persistent challenges, lift up the lived experiences of women across Loudoun County, and identify collaborators and partners who can help respond to what women are telling us.

We hope these findings serve as a useful resource for funders, nonprofit partners, researchers, elected officials, and community advocates.

Voices of Loudoun Women Survey Results: Program & Impact Reports

June 2025 - Voices of Loudoun Survey & Impact Report

This is our most recent report. For the third year in a row, more than half of the women who responded said they were facing at least one major challenge. The needs named most often were access to health care, including mental health care, housing support, help connecting to work, and food or nutrition support.

For a second straight year, more than half of the women surveyed reported at least one major challenge. The same four needs stayed at the top: health care and mental health, housing, connecting to work, and food support. The report shows how steady these pressures have become.

Based on a survey of Loudoun women in December 2022. Half of those surveyed reported one or more major challenges. That was a sharp rise from earlier years, when about one third reported the same.

A shorter brief that draws on surveys from winter 2020 and spring 2021, with more than 600 responses from local women. It looks at how women were recovering from the pandemic. Among the findings: 44% of women with school-age children named child care as an unmet need, 63% had skipped preventive health care (higher than the national rate), and more than two thirds said COVID-19 affected their mental health.

October 2022 - Girl emPower Summit 2022 Post-Event Report

A look at the impact of our 2022 Girl emPower Summit, themed “Breaking Boundaries and Embracing Change,” for young women ages 12 to 18. For the third year in a row, every attendee surveyed said they felt more confident about their future goals after taking part.

Our first published report. We asked Loudoun women how COVID-19 was affecting their lives. Out of nearly 400 responses, about one in three named at least one unmet need. The top three were child care, health care, and jobs or income. The report also set a goal to hear from more women in the Black, Asian, and Hispanic/Latina communities so future research better reflects Loudoun County.
